Expectations

If I served you tea in a mug, wine in a wine glass, beer in a nonic pint glass - you wouldn't bat an eye would you? This isn't a catch-all debate about abstract art, but, it is truly worth mentioning that our expectations, for consumables in consumables, and circumventing them, can cause quite the mental curfuffle for the masses.

Reality

Think about it, putting an item in another item, if it serves the same purpose, should not cause such argument and confusion. If I wish to put my cornflakes and milk on a plate, and it functionally serves the purpose I wish it to, then why should that be a problem for anyone else? Why is it acceptable that one can put soup in a thermos but not in a pint glass? Ridiculous.

AI

This tradition of enforcing consumables to be in their appropriate consumable container is so deeply engrained that even AI, such as ChatGPT, when prompted to draw cornflakes on a plate, instinctively it chooses to draw a bowl instead.
